Cities in Denmark
Let's begin our journey in Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark. This highly cultured city is best known as the home of the Little Mermaid statue, which was erected in honor of the world-famous fairy tale writer Hans Christian Andersen. Just as mythical as this statue are the many museums, parks, and royal palaces that adorn the Danish capital. Goods with legendary prices (at both extremes of the price scale) can also be found on the shopping street Strøget.
Copenhagen is famous for Christmas, Art & Culture, Family, Food & Drink, Solo Travel, and New Year's. Popular tourist attractions include Christiansborg Palace, the Tivoli Gardens, and Rosenborg Castle. To explore Copenhagen, you need a minimum of 2 days. The best time to visit is May to June.
Aarhus, a city in Denmark, is primarily known for the museums it houses. One of these must-visit museums is the ARoS Aarhus Art Museum, which features colorful exhibitions of modern art. Art enthusiasts will have a great time here as they can admire artworks in various media and learn more about some of the city's famous artists. Besides museums, guests shouldn't miss exploring the famous Aarhus Cathedral, which showcases beautiful Romanesque architecture. Aarhus is famous for Art & Culture, Food & Drink, and Adventure. Popular tourist attractions include the Aarhus Cathedral, Den Gamle By, and the ARoS Aarhus Art Museum. To explore Aarhus, you need a minimum of 3 days. The best time to visit is June to August.
Besides the major cities like Copenhagen or Aarhus, Denmark has many interesting sights that stretch across its various regions. Getting there is easy with your own car or campervan. No matter if it's spring
Further destinations in Denmark
One of Denmark's best travel destinations is the Danish North Sea coast. It primarily stands out for its fantastic beaches and popular holiday regions. The destinations of West Jutland and the Bay of Lament (Jammerbucht) are particularly popular.
Blåvand, one of the most beautiful places on the Danish North Sea, is located on the west coast. The holiday resort has become one of the most popular travel destinations in Denmark. Its attractive, white beach is right on Blåvands Huk (Blåvand's Hook), which is the westernmost point of the country. The beach region offers long chains of dunes and a wide selection of holiday homes located close to the shore. Besides sun-worshippers, mushroom pickers also get their money's worth in Blåvand.
Løkken, also a tip for a Danish North Sea vacation, is enchanting because of the special light conditions prevalent in North Jutland. But the beauty of the Bay of Lament (Jammerbucht) also repeatedly captivates visitors. Løkken is characterized by its white beach huts and wide sandy beaches. Nature there also offers green landscapes and fascinating steep cliffs. Furthermore, Løkken is wonderfully suited for families with children, hikers, and water sports enthusiasts.
Henne Strand in Jutland is another one of Denmark's most beautiful destinations. The holiday resort especially appeals to people who like to spend their vacation in holiday homes. Henne Strand has over 800 holiday homes, many of which are located directly by the sea. Several restaurants cater to physical well-being, and ample shopping opportunities are also available. If you have children, you should pay a visit to the "Playland" amusement park. The short, easy routes to the beach area are extremely convenient for families.
Billund is a Danish town that is primarily known for the world-famous toy manufacturer LEGO and the associated theme park LEGOLAND. The small town in Jutland has developed into a popular destination for families.
Hvide Sande is also one of the popular Danish holiday regions. It is located in the Holmsland Klit region, a narrow strip of land between the North Sea and the Ringkøbing Fjord. The holiday homes of the small fishing village are not far from the sea. In fact, Hvide Sande translates to: "built close to the water."
